It is produced naturally through plant fermentation. Reduced L-glutathione is the bioactive form that the body also produces itself. Glutathione is formed in the body from the amino acids glutamic acid, glycine and cysteine. A protein-rich diet in conjunction with various vitamins and minerals promotes the body's own glutathione production.
